Starehe Future; Case for support

Key thought:

‘The future of these kids is the future of Kenya.’

Starehe school in Nairobi, founded in 1959 for boys from disadvantaged backgrounds, has gone on to have a special place in Kenya’s post-colonial history. The school has always placed a value on integrity and service as a core strand of transformative education. In this case for support, we shone a light on the young students currently thriving in Starehe schools (there is now one for girls too), and their ambition and determination; not solely for themselves but for their country. This was complemented by short case studies from Starehe alumni now practicing these values out on the world. In this way, we showcased what is special about the school(s) and how the supporter’s gift could play a part in encouraging those qualities to flourish.
