Health Poverty Action wanted to showcase their efficacy and driving values, but they needed a document with a longer shelf life than an annual/impact report. To be cost- effective, this document had to act as both a general introduction for prospects and a way of fleshing out the story for existing supporters. Hence the ‘deeper understanding’ approach, with 1.) a structure that covers all key areas of work, both by subject and geography; 2.) case studies that highlight the extreme nature of the challenges being faced and addressed; and 3.) a clear guide as to how the reader can help – all in uncluttered and cost-effective 12 pages.
