Cracking Ideas (with Wallace and Gromit)
Cracking Ideas is an online initiative from the UK Intellectual Property Office (formerly the Patent Office) to promote innovation among children in the final two years of primary school. It is supported by Aardman Animations and fronted by popular characters Wallace and Gromit.
In the launch year, Lisa worked with her client Bell Design to create the website. She researched and wrote the copy, including features on the world’s top ten innovators and innovations, and some of the crazy ideas that were patented but never produced (chicken goggles anyone?).
Lisa also devised and wrote the Fun things to do at home with Mum and Dad pages, polished the curriculum-linked work schemes, and wrote the teaser, launch and follow-up emails promoting the campaign to teachers.
Cracking Ideas was hugely successful, with an 8% take-up rate compared to a base line expectation of 1.5%.
